Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
Your 7 days Kenya safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for a scenic drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. As you journey through the stunning Great Rift Valley, you’ll make a stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and magnificent view of Mt Longonot. The Kenya Safari will continue through dramatic landscapes and rolling hills toward the Masai Mara, passing through Masai villages and open plains dotted with wildlife. Check in your lodge/camp with lunch and later head out for the first evening game drive in the reserve. The Masai Mara, renowned for its rich biodiversity, wildebeest migration (seventh wonder of the World) and sweeping savannahs, offers excellent opportunities to spot Africa’s most iconic wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more in their natural habitat. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge/camp.
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive to explore the vast Masai Mara. This exciting Africa safari offers the chance to spot the Big Five lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos along with cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and numerous antelope species. Around midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch near the Mara River, enjoy breathtaking sights and sounds of the wilderness. After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve to maximize your wildlife sightings before returning to your lodge/camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
Check out after breakfast with an optional Masai village visit to experience Masai people culture and way of life. Later depart for Lake Nakuru National Park where you will check in with lunch at your Lake Nakuru lodge before setting out for your evening game drive. Lake Nakuru is a beautiful soda lake renowned for its incredible birdlife and is considered one of the best bird-watching with recorded over 450 species of birds. The park is also a sanctuary for endangered species and one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. As you explore, keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions, leopards, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs, baboons, and many species of antelope. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, check out and enjoy enroute game drive as you head to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake located in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and spend a relaxing afternoon soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of the lake region. Later in the day, enjoy a scenic boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you will spot hippos wallowing in the shallow waters, watch African fish eagles swoop down to catch fish, and admire the diverse birdlife from kingfishers and cormorants to pelicans and herons. The experience continues with a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, a private sanctuary where there are no predators, allowing you to walk freely among wildlife. Here you can get close to giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, and antelopes while enjoying stunning views of the lake and surrounding escarpments making it a perfect spot for photography. Return to your lodge, enjoy dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, enjoy the morning sunrise as you drive south to Amboseli, passing through the vast open plains of Kajiado County. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and check-in and enjoy your lunch. Set out on your first evening game drive in Amboseli, known for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park to witness predators and grazers as they become active at sunrise, with the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro just across the border in Tanzania providing a breathtaking backdrop. Around midday stop at the park’s scenic viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the entire reserve, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the swamps below a perfect spot for photography. You will have a packed picnic lunch at the view point before you continue to explore Amboseli’s rich wildlife. Return to the lodge/camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi
After breakfast, witness the breathtaking sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro, as the first light of day illuminates its snow-capped peak, one of the most iconic sights in Africa. Check out from the lodge and enjoy a short game drive as you exit the park. Capture stunning photographs of elephants and other wildlife with Kilimanjaro glowing in the background. Expected to arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable 7 days Kenya safari.
