Private Hike in Preveli Palm Forest

After 40 minutes drive from Rethymno towards the south of the island we will reach Preveli Monastery. We will walk through fantastic and preserved natural landscapes until arriving on the south coast, always magical and breathtaking ! After the walk, we can relax and swim in the Libyan Sea, walk along the river of Preveli surrounded by palms or enjoy a good meal before going back to our car by a another path. Pottery Village of Margarites - The monastery of Arkadi & The Gorge of Patsos (St Antonios)

Explore Margarites, the famous village of potters where our friend Yorgos will be waiting for us to offer us a small demonstration of its art! Then we will enjoy a quick coffee and then we will continue to Arkadi , the most famous monastery of Rethymnon region. At the end of the day, we will explore a magnificent small gorge before a well - deserved lunch at a local taverna! Participants that are staying at a 12 km radius around Rethymnon city will enjoy free transportation ( for participants outside this distance, transportation can be organised with an additional charge). An English speaking guide will be with you ( excursion available in French and Spanish as well). At the end of the day you will leave full of knowledge, food and memories!

A taste of Nature: The Cretan Way of Life

Leave the seaside for a day and enjoy a journey in the Real Crete. Our first stop will be at a historical monastery. Then, we will meet the shepherd Mr Andreas who will show us his herd and explain you all about his work around a typical Cretan shepherd snack. The third stop will be with his wife, Ms Eleni who will demonstrate to us her mastery on beekeeping. To perfect this journey, we will eat with this nice couple at their home to enjoy the Cretan welcome. In a few words, just feel, enjoy and share. Hands-on Cooking experience in a beautiful garden near Rethymno

The wood oven is hot and waiting for you! Together with your host , you will prepare some of the most typical Greek dishes and discover the ingredients only found in Crete! The aroma of fresh basil and ripe tomatoes will linger long afterward! While the food is cooking , enjoy a glass of wine or raki around the swimming pool. Then time to enjoy the fruits of labor! A meal all together with lots of laughter, Greek style! Participants will have to drive a short 20 minutes from Rethymnon at the village of Pigi where our English speaking guide ( excursion also available in French and in Spanish ) will be waiting for you! You will have all the necessities for cooking and you will leave with a booklet of the recipies!

Rethymno Walking & Gastronomy Tour

You start the visit by discovering a Kafeneio (traditional coffee). You will be able to taste a good cup of traditional Greek coffee accompanied by a small homemade snack! The next stop will take you to a small bistro where you will have the opportunity to taste olive oil, some honey and raki, the favorite drink of the Cretans. (Between 30 and 40 degrees of alcohol!) You then visit a workshop where traditional Greek cakes are made. M. Giorgos makes handmade kataifi and baklavas in a traditional way and if you are lucky you will see in action. Do not hesitate to please yourself and buy a few pieces. And to finish this gastronomic escapade, meet in a charming Cretan restaurant at the heart of the old town to feast on local specialties. The opportunity to learn more about Rethymno, its history and traditions.
