Right in the heart of Maribor lies one of the largest and oldest classic wine cellars in Europe. The history of Maribor's Vinag spans centuries thanks to our long-standing viticulture, vinification and trading traditions. Our roots go back all the way to 1847, when noble Alojz Kriehuber von Melje began growing grapes here and constructed his own personal wine cellar on site. Here at the Wine Cellar we invite you not only to sample some fine selections but also immerse yourself in sophisticated wine culture. We provide guided tour services through out the entire facility, host regular tasting events featuring samples of various varietals, and serve up delicious regional delicacies sourced directly from nearby producers.
