CABLE CAR TOUR & CROATIAN WAR OF INDEPENDENCE 1991–1992 (Spanish-Language Guided Tour)

We begin the excursion with a cable car ride to the panoramic viewpoint on Mount Srđ, where we will visit Fort Imperial and the Croatian War of Independence Museum. When Croatia voted for independence in 1991, it was attacked by the Yugoslav Army. During the assault on Dubrovnik in 1991 and 1992, as part of the broader aggression against Croatia, the Yugoslav forces did not respect the protected status of Dubrovnik’s Old Town and the city was systematically bombarded. Historic streets, public buildings, homes, and religious sites were heavily damaged. On this tour, we will explore how Dubrovnik was attacked, how the city defended itself, and how its people survived the horror and destruction. From Mount Srđ, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the walled city and its surroundings. Note: Cable car tickets and the entrance fee to the War Museum (Fort Imperial) are not included.

Highlights include the Franciscan Monastery (dating back to 1317 and home to one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe), the Large and Small Onofrio Fountains, Sponza Palace — the former customs house — Orlando’s Column, and the Church of St. Blaise (patron saint of the city). This Spanish-language guided tour is ideal for individual travelers and groups who want to experience Dubrovnik in an informative, enjoyable, and authentic way.
